Ron’s philosophy is that teaching computers to seniors doesn’t have to be boring. It should be fun. In fact, Ron’s approach is all about building adventure into his lessons. Ron tutors at a BFS kiosk in a retirement village. To ignite residents’ interest in the Internet, he loves taking them on what he calls ‘Virtual Armchair Travel Tours’ using Google Earth. Residents come along with an address and everyone sits back to watch an amazing tour via Google Earth. The addresses could be somewhere they lived, where their children or grandchildren live currently, where they were married or had a holiday once, a friend’s house – you name it they will travel there.
