BFS webinar: Sharing digital stories
April 10, 2015 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Traditional storytelling has been around for thousands of years. Digital stories combine the process of traditional story-telling with the use of technology. Technology can really help to make stories more compelling and engaging.
Using technology, seniors can tell their stories using multimedia such as video, photos and audio such as music, narration or sound effects.
The technology used to create a digital story may be developed and distributed over the Internet or offline where it can be viewed privately.
Our presenter Junita Lyon took us through the steps involved in creating a digital story. She shared some digital stories of seniors and then showed us some simple tools that could be used to develop them. We learnt how easy it is to develop a digital story using:
- PowerPoint or Slideshare
- Photo Story 3
- Other storytelling apps
